When Super Typhoon Odette devastated the Dinagat Islands, Team Uno and a group of dedicated volunteers took action, igniting a movement that became vital to the province’s recovery. They mobilized friends, family, and like-minded individuals to help rebuild, fostering a spirit of unity and resilience.
A series of solidarity initiatives soon took shape, bringing hope and strengthening the bonds between volunteers and residents. Recovering from such a disaster was never easy. While government and non-government organizations played significant roles in the province’s rehabilitation, it became clear that more needed to be done. A shared belief emerged: if we rise, we will not only rebuild but also showcase the beauty of Dinagat and the strength of its people.
With this vision, the core team pushed forward, launching a campaign that would go beyond recovery to redefine Dinagat’s future. Their goal was clear—to establish an organization that would put Dinagat on the map as the next eco-adventure destination, not just in the Philippines but on the world stage.
This is how RFS – Ride for Solidarity was born. Its primary mission is to showcase and enhance Dinagat’s natural wonders, transforming them into world-class venues for enduro racing, surfing, mountain biking, and skateboarding. By harnessing the power of adventure tourism, RFS aims to uplift local communities and reshape Dinagat’s identity—from a place of disaster to a thriving hub of adventure, resilience, and renewal.
